Observing with UCLES
Observing Guide
This document is a `cookbook' for the University College London Echelle Spectrograph (UCLES) which is used for high-resolution optical spectroscopy at the Anglo-Australian Telescope. UCLES is used to observe objects brighter than 17th magnitude, with a resolving power of at least 40,000, depending on the slit width. This instrument is located in the east coude room on the 4th floor of the AAT building.
Use this cookbook as a quick reminder of setup and observing techniques, and to check recent changes and instrument test reports.
